Moving Tips - 3 Weeks to Go!

The week is rolling along, and it’s time to check in and see how your moving plans are progressing. Check the blog history or this moving checklist for tips you may have missed, and get ready for the 21 days until summer moving season to pass quickly.

Now that some moves may be three weeks away, its time to gather some high-quality moving boxes. Beware of boxes pulled from dumpsters or otherwise used. These moving boxes can be structurally weak, increasing the risk of collapsing under the weight of its contents. If you do utilized used moving boxes, make sure they are sturdy. Dallas moving companies like All My Sons often keep gently used boxes on hand for the convenience of our customers.

For ease and peace of mind, request an assortment of moving boxes from your moving and storage company. Many, like All My Sons, will deliver a variety of boxes right to your door at no charge. Use what you need, and the supplies will be included on your invoice.

There are a few types of moving boxes ranging in sizes small to extra large. Remember to request wardrobe boxes for clothing, dish packs to protect your china, and a variety of moving box sizes to pack everything from bedding to DVDs and CDs.

Once you have your boxes, start packing! You'll find many items you can live without until you unpack in your new home.

Your Family Traditions

You’ve heard all about how All My Sons Moving & Storage is a family moving company and how our professional moving services are like family traditions. Each year of the four generations All My Sons has been in business has strengthened our family. Our traditions keep us accountable to our neighbors and customers as our family grows.

What family traditions do you have? Outside of the moving company, my family has always made time to gather for a family dinner with minimal distractions several times a week. This tradition keeps our family strong and opens lines of communication.

If you have a long-lived family tradition, I encourage your family to keep it going! If not, why not start one? Who knows, it may become a tradition that outlasts generations! Whether its game night, movie night, a meal or a weekend trip, traditions are at the heart of what keep families going.
